Staffing your IT department with the right personnel can be costly and a challenge. Three of the most common difficulties encountered by an organization encompass one or more of the following:

·         Keeping a good Director of IT, system administrator or end-user support staff member in your organization if your core business is not administrating systems or network technology (technicians often leave jobs where they are not challenged).

·         Managing IT personnel appropriately. It is common in the industry for good system administrators to dislike taking care of end-user support issues, and end-user support staff wanting to do more but lacking the necessary knowledge to maintain servers and deal with other more technological savvy issues.

·         Systems administrators and IT staff in general are usually either overwhelmed by work or to the contrary don't have anything to work on. (Either way organizations pay the same).

Other important considerations:

·         You may want to consider that a single system administrator is not flexible enough and cannot deliver at all levels of experience? This means that you do not have access to the same breadth of experience that an outsourcing organization such as what New Day Technology offers.

·         You want to avoid having a loss of important network information every time you lose an IT staff member (this often happens due to improper documentation while they are employed).

·         As you already know, costs associated with hiring and maintaining IT staff members include much more than just salary when you factor in benefits, salary increases, and training.
